Bible translators have taken the liberty of translating six different Old Testament Hebrew words and ten New Testament Greek words into the one word - love. Many of these words could have been more accurately translated into words like compassion, affection, or attraction. The Scriptures listed here are referring to the word love as defined by Father YAHUAH. In the Old Testament Hebrew that word is Ahab and its variation Ahabah. In the New Testament Greek that word is Agape and its variation Agapao. In two cases the Old Testament Hebrew word Chashaq and the New Testament Greek word Phileo (both meaning affection) are used and will be indicated as such. The other biblical words translated into Love are not relevant to this discussion as they do not carry the same significance even though our Bible translations would lead us to believe so. Also remember 6,828 times, Bible translators changed our Creator's stated name "YHWH" [pronounced, YAHUAH] to "the LORD" or "GOD". This can be easily verified by reading the Preface of most Bible translations. The translators used all capital letters for LORD" or "GOD" to differentiate between the word "Lord" which was also used by the ancient Old Testament and New Testament writers. It is out of respect to my Creator, Father YAHUAH, that I have reinserted His name back into His Word as He dictated to His original writers. Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus [Yahushua]neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: YAHUAH our God, YAHUAH is one. 5 Love YAHUAH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 5:9-10 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, YAHUAH your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 10 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. Deuteronomy 10:12-13 And now, O Israel, what does YAHUAH your God ask of you but to fear YAHUAH your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve YAHUAH your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to observe YAHUAH's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? Deuteronomy 10:19 And you are to love those who are aliens, for you yourselves were aliens in Egypt. Leviticus 19:18 " 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am YAHUAH . Matthew 15:7-9 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: 8" 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'" Note: This was Yahushua quoting Isaiah 29:13 Matthew 22:34-40 Hearing that Jesus [Yahushua] had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus [Yahushua]replied: " 'Love the Lord [YAHUAH] your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Note: Yahushua is quoting Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18 listed above. John 3:16 "For God [YAHUAH] so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Note: This is Yahushua speaking. Notice how this command differs from YAHUAH's command in Leviticus 19:8 and quoted by Yahushua in Matthew 22:39. John 15:12-14 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. Note: This is Yahushua speaking. 1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God [YAHUAH]. Everyone who loves has been born of God [YAHUAH] and knows God [YAHUAH]. 8Whoever does not love does not know God [YAHUAH], because God [YAHUAH] is love. 1 John 5:1-5 Everyone who believes that Jesus [Yahushua] is the Christ is born of God [YAHUAH], and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God [YAHUAH]: by loving God [YAHUAH] and carrying out his commands. 3This is love for God [YAHUAH]: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God [YAHUAH] overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus [Yahushua] is the Son of God [YAHUAH]. Note: Read the page on Obedience for a greater understanding of how to love Father YAHUAH. Also note that in the ancient Greek text verse 3 and verse 4 are all one sentence. 1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Note: John is speaking of Father YAHUAH. 1 John 3:18-20 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 19This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence 20whenever our hearts condemn us. For God [YAHUAH] is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Note: The next verses below list these actions. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts [believes all] , always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. Note the ancient Greek text says "believing all things" instead of "always trusts". If you read the page on "Trust" you will see that "believing all" is a more accurate translation. Ephesians 2:1-7 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God [YAHUAH], who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God [YAHUAH]raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus [Yahushua], 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus [Yahushua]. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 Do everything in love. Romans 5:1-5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God [YAHUAH]through our Lord Jesus [Yahushua] Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God [YAHUAH]. 3Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God [YAHUAH] has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:8 But God [YAHUAH] demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." 10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus [Yahushua] neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Luke 10:30-37 In reply Jesus [Yahushua] said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.' 36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?" 37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus [Yahushua] told him, "Go and do likewise." Matthew 5:43-48 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Note: Yahushua speaking of Father YAHUAH. Matthew 10:37-39 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Note: yahushua speaking. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1Timothy 1:3-5 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer 4nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's [YAHUAH's]work—which is by faith. 5The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God [YAHUAH] works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Note: ancient Greek text uses the word faith not faithfulness. Psalm 91:14-16 "Because he loves me," says YAHUAH , "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; 16 With long life will I satisfy him Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * Heart of the Bible * |
